What does a dental laboratory do?A dental lab acts as a technical resource and manufactures dental prosthetics, such as dentures, crowns, and bridges under the prescription from a dentist. |
What is Clair de Lune Dental Laboratories’ speciality? We are a boutique lab specializing in removable prosthetics that often incorporate implants, including hybrid fixed–removable prosthetics. Our emphasis is on dentures, as Kenneth Kellogg, CDT, has been certified in complete dentures for more than 15 years, as of 2012. |
Can a person contact a dental lab instead of a dentist? No, with one exception: There are a few states that allow “denturism.” That means a laboratory technician can fabricate a denture without a dentist. However, Hawai‘i is not a denturism state, which means a patient — a person — must use a dentist. If you are a patient, you may request that your dentist use Clair de Lune Dental Laboratories to fabricate your prosthesis. |
Does Clair de Lune outsource its work?We only outsource our chrome–cobalt frameworks to a high-quality laboratory in the United States specializing in frameworks. Everything else is manufactured in our office. We use the finest materials and strict quality and infection control. |
Does Clair de Lune provide charitable services?Yes! Every year since we have been in business, we provide approximately 10% of our gross profit to charity, most of which is through Donated Dental Services. You can learn more at our Charity page. |
